₹1,000 feeds a family of five for one month

The need

Hunger in India is rarely a famine. It is a mother thinning the dal so it stretches one more day, and a father skipping the meal he does not mention.

It arrives quietly — after a flood, after an illness, after the work dries up — and it is almost always survivable if help comes in the first few weeks.

What we do

We buy at mandis close to the point of distribution. That gets food moving in days rather than weeks, and it keeps the money inside the local economy instead of extracting it.

Every kit is signed for against a register. That register is what our audit is built on, and it is why we can tell you where your money went.

What it funds

Giving with amanah

Your donation is an amanah — a trust held on your behalf, and on behalf of the household that receives it. We treat it as money that is not ours, because it is not.

That means buying at market rates and keeping the quotes, signing every handover against a register, and publishing accounts that an auditor has seen before you have.

Our promise to you

We will tell you what your donation funded, including when it did not go to plan. We will not publish a figure we cannot evidence — you will find outstanding markers on this site rather than estimates.

And we will never use a photograph of someone in distress to raise money from you.
