The unglamorous half of aid

Why this appeal exists

Nobody wants to fund a warehouse, a truck or a field officer's salary. Everybody wants the seventy-two-hour response those things make possible.

The Impact Fund pays for the second so we can deliver the first. Giving here is unglamorous and it is the most useful rupee on this site.

How you can help

What each amount does

Giving with amanah

Your donation is an amanah — a trust held on your behalf, and on behalf of the household that receives it. We treat it as money that is not ours, because it is not.

That means buying at market rates and keeping the quotes, signing every handover against a register, and publishing accounts that an auditor has seen before you have.

Our promise to you

We will tell you what your donation funded, including when it did not go to plan. We will not publish a figure we cannot evidence — you will find outstanding markers on this site rather than estimates.

And we will never use a photograph of someone in distress to raise money from you.

Questions

Before you give

No. Administration and governance are reported separately in our accounts. The Impact Fund pays for operational delivery capacity — storage, transport and field staff.
