Child Protection Policy

How we keep children safe in our programmes, our imagery and our communications.

Last updated: TODO_CLIENT: date

Our commitment

A significant part of our work involves children. We accept that this carries risk, and that the responsibility to manage it sits with us and not with the children or their families.

Staff, volunteers and partners

Everyone working with children on our behalf is screened before appointment, briefed on this policy, and required to report concerns. Partner organisations must have an equivalent policy in force; where they do not, we will not place children in their care.

No adult may be alone with a child in a private setting during our programmes.

Images and identity

We do not publish photographs of identifiable children in our care, and we do not match sponsors to a named child. Sponsors receive anonymised progress reports.

The photography on this site does not depict identifiable beneficiaries. A child's dignity and safety come before a donor's connection to them, and before our fundraising.

Reporting a concern

Report any concern immediately to TODO_CLIENT: safeguarding contact email or TODO_CLIENT: safeguarding contact phone. Concerns involving immediate danger should go to the police and to Childline India on 1098 first, and to us straight afterwards.
