Orphan Sponsorship

Family first

Most children who lose a parent in India still have family. What that family usually lacks is not love but income.

So we pay the surviving parent or guardian directly, and the child stays in the home, school and community they already know. Institutional care is our last resort, not our first.

What sponsorship covers

School fees paid to the school, a uniform, books, and an annual health check. Where the barrier is transport, we cover the bus fare, because that is often the real reason a child stops attending.

We follow attendance. Support continues where a child is genuinely in class.

Giving with amanah

Your donation is an amanah — a trust held on your behalf, and on behalf of the household that receives it. We treat it as money that is not ours, because it is not.

That means buying at market rates and keeping the quotes, signing every handover against a register, and publishing accounts that an auditor has seen before you have.

Our promise to you

We will tell you what your donation funded, including when it did not go to plan. We will not publish a figure we cannot evidence — you will find outstanding markers on this site rather than estimates.

And we will never use a photograph of someone in distress to raise money from you.

Questions

Before you give

We do not publish children's photographs or identities. Sponsors receive an anonymised annual progress report. Protecting a child's dignity and safety comes before a sponsor's connection to them.

Yes, where the household meets the criteria. Zakat funds are held separately from general donations.

Yes. We ask only that you tell us, so we can arrange continuity for the child before the support ends.
